    Suehiro Ceramic 1000 Whetstone

Elevate your bonsai tool maintenance with the Suehiro Ceramic 1000 Whetstone, a premium sharpening solution from the renowned Japanese brand, Suehiro. Designed for both professionals and enthusiasts, this whetstone ensures your tools remain in peak condition.

    Key Features:

    • Fine Grit (#1000): Achieve razor-sharp edges for precise cutting.
    • Recommended Pairing: For optimal results, follow with a 3000 grit stone for final finishing.
    • Pre-Sharpening Option: Use the 200 grit stone for basic sharpening and chip removal before transitioning to the 1000 grit.
    • Stability: Mounted on a non-slip base for safe and effective sharpening.
    • Includes Nagura Stone: A free Nagura stone is provided to create a sharpening paste for enhanced tool maintenance.
    • Gentle on Tools: Specifically designed to avoid excessive material removal, protecting your valuable bonsai tools.
    • No Oil Required: Simply soak the stone in water before use, making it easy and convenient.

    Importance of Sharp Tools:

Using sharp tools is crucial for maintaining the health of your bonsai trees. Dull tools require unnecessary force, risking damage to the live tissue or cambium and hindering the healing process. Regular sharpening prior to each work session is essential to prevent tool damage and ensure clean cuts.

How to Use the Suehiro Whetstone:

    1. Soak the whetstone in water for approximately 5 minutes.
    2. Remove the stone from the water and place it on a level surface.
    3. Rub the included Nagura stone on the surface of the whetstone to create a sharpening paste.
    4. As the stone dries, add more water as needed.
    5. Run your tool over the stone about 10 times for effective sharpening.
    6. After sharpening, wipe the tool surface with jojoba oil to prevent oxidation and rust.
