Awesome experience with this kit. The little trees grow very quickly! Very interesting to see the leaves close up at night or when they have had enough sunlight. I'm definitely excited to see how they grow and develop in the future!
The seeds are of high quality and have sprouted quickly. Great investment!
I love my bonsai tree with all my heart and after having a lot of fun with it as I saw it grow, now I'm constantly worried if it will ever be okay again. The guide contained within the pack advised that in spring, the taproot should be pruned and that the trunk must be cut so the tree won't grow taller and this is what I did at the beginning of September. The tree has never given me major problems since the seed germinated in January but ever since I followed those instructions, it's been one problem after the other. The tree lost all its leaves, it is no longer stable, and it is dying at the top, I kept watering it hoping that it will revive again from Sept to Nov. Nothing was changing for a while until recently, when some leaves started emerging at the bottom of the trunk but the top is still dying and it doesn't seem to have stabilized as it used to be. I feel super sad and discouraged because I was super happy with it and it is very dear to me. There isn't much guidance on the website, in the guide and on the net in general about how to take care of new small bonsai when you have limited experience and it is very discouraging
Hello Judith. I am sorry you are discouraged but this is part of the learning curve of bonsai. All bonsai enthusiasts kill and continue to kill plants in pursuit of learning. Sorry you feel there is insufficient information but I honestly do not know any other supplier who has done both videos and an extensive booklet, but perhaps in the future it would be nice to do something showing a continuation of the techniques applied. However I can see you did not follow the instructions you have either as you did not cut the trunk as shown, and so if you cut the taproot but kept the trunk as long as you did then that would explain why the tree has suffered; there has been a major imbalance between the ability of the plant to take up water and the demand for it but the top. I hope it comes right but if not you are welcome to try again, just ask us for some free Acacia seeds with a future order and we will happily provide them.
The service I received was excellent. One of the seeds successfully sprouted. My acacia bonsai is about 2 months old now and growing well.
Wow Pamla! You must have "green fingers" as that Acacia is growing like crazy! Thanks for the picture and review :)
Was nervous to buy such an easy kit to start with, sounded too simple. Followed the instructions and whoop whoop I have tree standing at 5 cm tall and healthy. Also great services received
